I'm a local with a keen interest in sport and healthy living

This led me to completing my Certificate in Relaxation Massage (level 4) through SIT in 2012 and further training in Sports Massage.

Both of which gave me a great grounding in anatomy, physiology, massage techniques and contraindications to be able to deliver a truly therapeutic experience.

I have 6 years+ experience working in both Spa environments and Physiotherapy clinics.

I totally believe in the benefits of Massage for rehabilitation and wellness of body and mind and warmly encourage as many people as possible to experience this.

Available Tuesdays and some Saturdays by appointment.

Helen Dickenson

Meet our newest member of the team!

Hello, I am a Chinese Medicine practitioner providing acupuncture and Chinese massage (Tuina) services for 23therapies.

Previously I was a medic in the New Zealand Army for 5 years and observed first hand the negative impact of hard physical labour, prolonged exposure to inclement weather, and physical and emotional trauma on the human mind, body, and spirit. Later I worked in Elder care and saw the daily struggle of those burdened with chronic ill health. After learning and practicing Taichi and Qigong as an alternative to running, I was impressed by the health benefits gained, and desired to learn about rehabilitation and health preservation in Chinese medicine.

This led to five and a half years of study with the New Zealand College of Chinese Medicine. Chinese medicine provides so much more than relief of symptoms of pain and accelerated rates of recovery. For centuries it has provided a way to return to health and avoid chronic and debilitating illness.

I look forward to assisting you in your journey to optimal health and wellbeing at 23therapies.
